Jush means “self-love” it is a coined by drag queen Jasmine Masters on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Masters defined the term for  Billboard in a June 2018 interview, saying, “You know who you are. You love yourself, that’s all that matters. And once you get that, you have your jush.” According to Urban Dictionary, “jush” is also a replacement for any word.

On Oct. 15, the term became a trending topic on Twitter after a video of TikToker @Queenbv59 went viral. In it, she showcased just how long she’s prepared to wait to cast her ballot in the 2020 Presidential Election. She filmed her portable chair and a fan with the word “jush” on it while encouraging others to vote, saying, “I’m going to vote. Not sh*t gon’ stop me. Not this sun, not this heat. Y’all need to go on and get your jush and get your vote on.”
