Brooklyn Nine-Nine is overall a wholesome, positive show with some adult humor. It features a cast of characters who work together and care about each other, even though they relentlessly tease each other.

Since it’s a cop show, there is some violence, crime, and drug-related content. However, as violence is mostly portrayed for the sake of the plot and comedy, it is not usually graphic or gruesome. There is some sex talk, raunchy jokes, and romance, but no explicitly sexual scenes. At times, characters use curse words, but mostly light swear words (i.e. not the F-word). Characters drink, sometimes to the point of excess, in which they then usually engage in regrettable activities.

The show ran on Fox for five years and has been picked up by NBC for a sixth season, premiering in January 2o19. It stars Stephanie Beatriz, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Chelsea Peretti, Andre Braugher, and SNL‘s Andy Samberg.
