The Brief: The parents of TikTok are plotting their revenge for their children's sloppy living habits, acting out what they'll do when they visit their kids' homes once they're grown up in the #JustVisiting meme trend.
TikTok parents are making fun of their children for being messy and careless while comedically acting out how they’ll someday turn the tables on their kids. In the Just Visiting TikTok trend, parents imagine what it’d look like if they walked into their kids’ future homes and wreaked havoc in the ways that their children currently do in their home. This includes behaviors like drawing on the walls, leaving lights on, throwing random things on the floor, eating all the snacks, never doing dishes, Juuling, feeding table scraps to the dog, and stealing cash. By switching roles and acting like children, these parents comedically highlight how untidy and disrespectful their kids’ living habits can be.
The Just Visiting hashtag was featured on TikTok’s Discover page on March 13 with the caption “Whether you act like you own it, or you’re just causing problems, show us what happens when you’re #JustVisiting.” At the time of writing, videos associated with the hashtag have been viewed over 67 million times on the app.
#JustVisiting TikToks are set to a clip from the song “Interior Crocodile Alligator” by Chip Tha Ripper which includes the lyrics:
Interior crocodile alligator
I drive a Chevrolet movie theater
Now, baby, I’m the ripper
Your baby daddy’s worst nightmare
