Creators list a string of identical reactionary emojis, like the laughing emoji, and include a random emoji in the middle, as if to represent an error while texting.
The trend first appeared on TikTok when creator @Crispinion posted a video captioned, “When you accidentally add a random emoji when laughing.” In it, he’s seen laughing hysterically, before stopping to stare into space, and then returning to his fits of laughter. The June 3 video was a popular one, receiving over 1.1 million likes and 5.1 million views.
