A spam account is a secondary Instagram account used for posting frequent miscellaneous, random, and excessive content. “Spam” can refer to pictures, screenshots, selfies, thirst traps, long captions, memes, s**tposts, and more.

Unlike a Rinsta, a spam account is for more unfiltered postings. Spam accounts are a type of Finsta, usually one that is even less polished. Spam accounts can be public or private. Usernames are usually silly, random, and may include the word “spam.”

@ghosted1996 and @scariest_bug_ever are examples of spam-type accounts, which could also be considered meme accounts or finstas.
