TikTok replies are a new source of content on the app. As of recent, TikTokers are replying to creators’ videos letting them know they look forward to trolling them when they are about to hit a milestone in their follower count. The “twist” is that an individual will follow and unfollow a creator repeatedly too keep them from reaching their follower count goal. A similar take on the trend features creators actually pulling the said “mind twist” on another TikToker and filming it.
Typically, these videos are performed to a clip of Tiffany “New York” Pollard on the reality show Flavor Of Love, saying, “So I wanted to see her anger level. I wanted to see if I was powerful enough to twist her mind.” At the time of publication, there are over 736,000 videos linked to the audio here and another 150,000 videos linked to the audio here. The associated hashtag #TwistYourMind has accrued over 1.3 million views. These videos began growing in popularity in late June 2020.
Some of the most popular takes on this prank are committed on TikTok stars’ accounts. Creator @Moeockyy’s video trolled Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp. his video was well received, earning him over 1.9 million likes and 7.6 million views.
