The #LucidDreamsChallenge took off in November, with TikTokers dancing to Juice WRLD’s hit song “Lucid Dreams” and faking a seizure midway through the video, spilling water from their mouths for dramatic effect.

Early yesterday morning, news broke that the 21-year-old rapper tragically died after suffering a seizure at Chicago’s Midway airport, leading many TikTok users to freak out over the disturbingly prophetic dance challenge.

While it’s uncertain what prompted TikTok users to fake a seizure to this song, it happens as Juice raps “I have these lucid dreams where I can’t move a thing,” which he told Genius references his experiences with sleep paralysis.

Although the exact cause of his death isn’t yet known, Juice WRLD frequently described his struggle with addiction in his music. In his song “Legends” he raps about how his peers in the rap game are not even making it past 21, let alone to the infamous “27 club,” a term used to describe a group of musicians including Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, and Jimi Hendrix, who all died at age 27.

Just last year, rapper Lil Peep died at 21 after a drug overdose, and Juice WRLD had turned 21 just 6 days before his death. He was reportedly traveling to his hometown of Chicago to attend his 21st birthday party.

Fans also uncovered other freaky coincidences, including this tweet from Juice back in 2017:

Although these strange correlations exist, there is no evidence to suggest this was an Illuminati conspiracy or that he faked his death. However, this Twitter account is convinced Juice is secretly still alive and dissects his lyrics as evidence (full thread in the comments):

Conspiracies aside, Juice WRLD’s death marks another tragic moment for hip hop, and fans and fellow rappers are mourning his passing while celebrating his legacy:
