The #ShowMeYourWalk TikTok dance gives graduates a chance to walk, even as they’ll be unable to attend an IRL ceremony. The hashtag is sponsored by Chase bank who partnered with Kevin Hart for the video that launched the trend. Although the hashtag is sponsored, there is no advertisement element in the videos other than that the sound and hashtag are listed as “presented by Chase.”

The song starts with a clip of “Pomp and Circumstance” before cutting to “Walk It Talk It” by Migos, featuring Drake. Recent and soon-to-be graduates are participating in this trend, usually while wearing their caps and gowns. Typically, TikTokers start with a slow walk to Pomp and Circumstance and start dancing when the beat drops, and “Walk It Talk It” begins. Not all videos with the hashtag feature graduates as many people are taking advantage of the song’s quick turnaround for a variety of dances and comedy sketches. At the time of writing, videos tagged with #ShowMeYourWalk have been viewed over 30 million times and the hashtag is featured on TikTok’s Discover page.

Although this trend can not replace actual graduations, it’s giving grads a fun use for their caps and gowns while allowing them to virtually celebrate their accomplishments.
