In an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19, concerts and other gatherings that host large amounts of people were either cancelled or postponed until further notice. As of April 10, some health experts predict it won’t be safe to gather in large crowds until Fall 2021. Twitter users are reacting with various memes, showcasing their frustrations.

While there has been some slow in the spread of COVID-19 in a few states,  some health experts report it’ll still be a long time before things return back to normal. On April 10, The New York Times reported “big communal gatherings” will likely be one of the last things people can expect to resume.

“Larger gatherings — conferences, concerts, sporting events — when people say they’re going to reschedule this conference or graduation event for October 2020, I have no idea how they think that’s a plausible possibility. I think those things will be the last to return. Realistically we’re talking fall 2021 at the earliest,” said Zeke Emanuel, a Center For American Progress oncologist and bioethicist.

Twitter users were saddened, angered, and frustrated by the news and they reacted by putting a new spin on old memes, like this one of Tiffany “New York” Pollard waiting impatiently on a bed.

There’s also the Crying Baby Pep Talk meme with the caption, “me knowing that postponing concerts until fall 2021 is the best for everyone’s safety and health bUT ALSO KNOWING IT MEANS WE WON’T SEE BTS UNTIL FALL 2021.”

And, so many more…
