Many of these memes, which are known as Medieval Memes, are being proliferated by Reddit user ascending_pepe on the Dank Memes subreddit. The paintings provide a versatile format for object labeling memes and other photoshop modifications. Most of the images come from The Crusader Bible also known as the Morgan Picture Bible or the Maciejowski Bible from the 1240’s France.
