Mariah Carey made sure that this holiday season, people will be blasting more of her songs than just “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” On Sunday, the pop icon created her own rendition of the TikTok Fantasy Challenge, which is set to her song “Fantasy,” featuring O.D.B., racking up hundreds of thousands of likes and millions of views in 24 hours.

The first-known TikTok video featuring “Fantasy” was posted by user @ojaymalala on October 23, 2019. In the video, which has been viewed over 3.3 million times, Ojay and his brother perform a series of dance moves to a clip from “Fantasy.” In the weeks following, over 127,000 videos have been posted to TikTok with this clip and videos associated with the hashtag #FantasyChallenge have been viewed over 5.5 million times.

Although this trend originated in late October, it has experienced a spike in views and participation since Carey posted her version. Variations of the dance routine include rhythmic hand motions, hip rocking, a butt tap, and a version of the “drop it low” dance move. The lyrics included in the clip go:

“Oh, when you walk by every night
Talkin’ sweet and lookin’ fine
I get kinda hectic inside
Mmm, baby, I’m so into you
Darlin’, if you only knew…”

The TikTok Fantasy Challenge is not the first Mariah Carey-inspired trend to go viral on TikTok. This summer, the #ObsessedChallenge took the internet by storm, with Carey herself making her TikTok debut by recreating the dance.
