Produced by FX It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia has 13 seasons and is available for streaming on Hulu. It follows the lives and friendships of Frank (Danny DeVito), Charlie (Charlie Day), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), Dennis (Glenn Howerton), and Mac (Rob McElhenney).

It’s Always Sunny makes jokes about pretty much everything taboo, off-limits, and offensive including gun violence, rape, HIV/AIDS, pedophilia, blackface, murder, and drug addiction. The characters say and do things that are racist, sexist, homophobic transphobic, violent, exploitive, and downright evil. As every member of “the gang” is clearly a terrible person, the show doesn’t promote these behaviors but makes them the butt of jokes.

As it takes place at an Irish pub, the characters drink constantly. They also use a variety of drugs. There are graphically sexual descriptions, but sex isn’t shown in detail on-screen. The depictions and descriptions of graphic violence are comedic but often grotesque.  Members of “the gang” curse constantly and are certainly not positive role models.

Many find this dark, raunchy comedy to be hilarious and poignant, but young, impressionable audiences may not understand it or find it to be funny.
