TikTokers are jumping on a new meme based on the age-old practice of making dance moves by miming everyday activities. This move involves acting out buckling or unbuckling one’s seatbelt. On TikTok, this move is being performed to the song “Rodeo” by Lil Nas X and Cardi B. In variations of the Buckle Up TikTok dance meme trend, people do the buckle move when the beat drops in the song.

The lyrics featured in these clips go:

TikTokers add their own spins to The Buckle by acting like the seatbelt is stuck or adding other clever ad-libs. Many of these videos show other car-related mime dance moves to add to one’s repertoire. These include “the unbuckle,” “wax on wax off,” Throw It In Reverse, “dad reverse,” “the honk,” and “the Skrrt.”

Some TikTok users are calling the Buckle Up dance move the new The Woah. At the time of writing, the hashtag #BuckleUp has been viewed over 26 million times and the clip from “Rodeo” has been featured in over 39,000 videos.
