TikTok’s Time Warp Effect is back and part of another viral trend. The effect has been used to contort faces and transform creators’ photos into renaissance paintings. Now, the popular Time Warp Waterfall is being used to drag part of an image down the screen (like a waterfall) creating a silly and sometimes creepy effect. These TikToks began growing in popularity in mid-January. There are over 130,000 videos linked to the effect.

The Time Warp Waterfall effect has been used mostly by creators playing with their eyes and mouths.

@Sianevans385’s TikTok features her eyes dancing to a remix of the “Cha Cha Slide” received over 1.5 million likes and over 7 million views in one day.

In some videos, TikTokers are using it on their necks to appear like sperm.

@N1ckwilkins used the effect to transform his neck, making him resemble that of sperm. His video captioned “Sperm cell 1: You know only one of us will make it out alive” garnered over 2.6 million likes and 10.5 million views.
