There’s no denying it. Spoopy szn is here. As Halloween approaches, it’s time to start assembling your costume (or costumes if Halloweekend is a multi-day celebration for you). Yes, you could dust off last year’s costume or throw on a sassy t-shirt that says “this is my costume,” or you could put in a little more effort into one of these topical and hilarious 2019 meme Halloween costumes.

1. VSCO Girl / VSCO Boy

If you’re already a VSCO girl or VSCO boy, just put on your favorite scrunchies, slip on your Birkenstocks, and you’re good to go. If you’re new to the VSCO look, all you need are a few accessories and you’ll be saving the turtles and sksksking all Halloween long.

2. A Clown

Although there haven’t been too many creepy clown sightings this year, clowns have recently invaded the pop culture landscape. Go as It, The Joker, a Juggalo, a TikTok lipstick clown, or a “clown” as in someone who has done something foolish.

What To Wear: Go for a traditional clown costume, or get creative with your own clown makeup and goofy clothes. If you’re really short on time, you can pull together a TikTok lipstick clown look in just a few seconds.

3. Area 51 Kyles And Aliens

Maybe you wanted to storm Area 51 but couldn’t make it out to the middle of the desert. Honor the brave 75-or-so souls who showed up at the gate to Area 51 on September 20 by dressing up as a Kyle, an alien, or both.

4. Cowboy/Cowgirl

The Yee Haw Agenda is alive and well. Recycle your costume from the Yee Haw or Git Up TikTok challenges or style your own take on the iconic Western look of 2019.

5. eGirl/eBoy

This year eBoys and eGirls took TikTok by storm, inspiring multiple meme trends, and spreading across various digital media platforms.

6. 30-50 Feral Hogs

Perfect costume for trick-or-treating as you can go in someone’s yard, perhaps even while their small kids play (be sure to watch out for protective parents). Just get 29-49 of your closest friends to go hog wild with you and you’re all set.

What To Wear: Start with a simple pig costume and feel free to beef it up with tusks, torn clothing, and anything else you deem to be feral hog-like.

7. Ultra Instinct Shaggy

Every Halloween, you’re bound to see at least one Scooby-Doo group costume, but including an Ultra Instinct Shaggy in that lineup would make the whole scooby gang all the more legit.

What To Wear: Add some blue sparkles, red glasses, and a Goku wig to a traditional Shaggy outfit to emphasize his ultra-instincts.

8. Fancy Winnie The Pooh

Remodel a costume from years past into a fresh, new, and classy look. As an added bonus, you’ll also be dressed as Chinese President Xi Jinping (according to the memes).

What To Wear: Get out your old Winnie The Pooh onesie, grab a top hat, bow tie, and monocle and you’re ready to go.

9. Peppa Pig

It’s been a huge year for Peppa Pig. She dropped her bop-filled debut album, solidified her status as an LGBTQ+ icon, inspired a TikTok meme, stirred up rumors about her height, kept up her TV series, and starred in a feature film. Embody this amazing creature with a Peppa Pig pop star costume.

What To Wear: Sadly, there are no adult Peppa Pig costume sets for sale. DIY your costume with a red dress, pink tights, pig accessories, and prop microphone.

10. Me And The Boys

The popular Me And The Boys Reddit meme actually comes from an image of Spider-Man villains from a 1967 television series. You and the boys can dress up as Green Goblin, Rhino, Electro, and Vulture for a fun group costume.

What To Wear: Electro and Vulture costume sets can be found on Amazon. A rhinoceros onesie will do for Rhino and a vintage Green Goblin costume can be made out of a green bodysuit, red gloves, a red hat, red socks, red shorts, and a red t-shirt.

11. White Claw

Not only will partygoers be drinking sparkling seltzer this Halloween, but there are also bound to be quite a few people dressed up as the most widely-memed beverage of the year.

What To Wear: Get crafty with some cardboard or just wear this White Claw t-shirt dress.
