Sunday April 14th marks the beginning of the end.

Regardless of whether or not you count yourself a fan, there’s no denying that HBO’s Game of Thrones has greatly-affected the television industry. It is a show whose budgets and grandeur were once unthinkable for TV and now, it’s become the gold standard.

Game of Thrones, or GOT as it is fondly referred to by fans, has won more Emmys than any other dramatic series…ever. To date, it is the most popular show in HBO’s canon and one of the most watched shows of the last decade – Season 7 averaged nearly 30 million views per episode.

All great things must come to an end and the end is in sight for Game of Thrones, much to their fans’ dismay. The eighth and final season debuts this Sunday, April 14th, and the memes have been circulating something fierce as of late, leading up to the big day.

The majority of fans are eagerly anticipating the Season 8 premiere…

Some fans are stocking up on GOT Oreos, which come in four different Great House themes.

And Oreo isn’t the only business capitalizing on the extra GOT fandom…

Many fans are dreading the end of the series, as they know it could mean tragic endings for the characters they have grown to love (and hate) over seven seasons.

GOT has an infamous reputation for killing-off its characters.

Author George R.R. Martin has assured fans that they can expect more bloodshed in Season 8, so be prepared. Yee!

The big question on everyone’s mind is who will survive to claim the illustrious Iron Throne? GOT fans are famous for their fan theories…

And after seven seasons, people have picked their faves for who should, could, and will take the throne.

This one’s not for you, Elizabeth, okurrr?

One thing’s for sure – Game of Thrones fans are determined to avoid spoilers. They’ve even unofficially partnered with Avengers fans.

Avengers: Endgame releases later in April, so it’s no surprise that several memes show these fandoms colliding.

It seems Marvel and GOT fans have more in common than they knew.
