When Disney’s Pixar unveiled the trailer for Toy Story 4 some months back, the character, Forky, quickly became a fave meme amongst many.

Even after the film’s release last week, Forky continues to slay the meme game, this time with a particular phrase familiar to Millennials and Gen Z lingo: “I’m trash.”

Younger generations use the phrase “I’m trash” when they’re ashamed of something they did, such as hooking up with someone from Tinder.

Other variations of the phrase include calling something or someone else “trash”.

In Toy Story 4, Forky’s declaration is much more literal. He considers himself to be actual garbage rather than a child’s toy.

It didn’t take long for Twitter to respond, finding an instant connection with Pixar’s newest character.

Forky’s line has even been likened to famous clips from Avengers and Star Wars.

Most versions of this meme praise the animated lunchroom spork for straight up admitting he’s trash, a relatable feeling amongst many.

Several social media users have admitted to feeling the same way as Forky at one time or another.

In contrast, other iterations take on a more encouraging POV similar to Woody’s in the film.

The Me Explaining memes don’t stop there:

While many memes are purely meant for LOLs, there are several people who have pointed out the importance of a character like Forky in a children’s film.

It seems Forky’s anxiety and existential crises reflect the mood of many Gen Zers and Millennials.

Judging by the tweets, it’s clear there’s a lot to love about this film, but maybe nothing more so than Forky…

And the memes he’s inspired.
