On Twitter, #PresidentPlump, #PlumpTrump, #TrumpMorbidlyObese, and #GirtherMovement all reference comments that Nancy Pelosi made about the President being “morbidly obese.”

On May 18, 2020, in response to news that President Donald Trump is taking the controversial drug Hydroxychloroquine for Coronavirus prevention, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told Anderson Cooper:

“As far as the President is concerned, he’s our President and I would rather he not be taking something that has not been approved by the scientists, especially in his age group and in his, shall we say, weight group — morbidly obese, they say. So, I think it’s not a good idea.”

While some people chided Pelosi for possibly partaking in fat-shaming, others took this as an opportunity to drag the president for his weight and for his promotion of a questionable COVID-19 treatment. The hashtags #PresidentPlump, #PlumpTrump, #TrumpMorbidlyObese, and #GirtherMovement all make fun of the President, in an attempt to bruise his ego.
