On TikTok, the Yellow Teeth Challenge invites creators to use the color selector feature to highlight the color yellow, and then to show their teeth to see how yellow they look. Typically, TikTokers are shocked by the results of how their yellow teeth are dramatically highlighted. These videos are often set to a sound called “Side to Captain Hook” which consists of the songs “Side To Side” by Ariana Grande, featuring Nicki Minaj and “Captain Hook” by Megan Thee Stallion.
The lyrics included in the sound clip go:

Another popular audio for the trend features a voiceover of how to do it. This challenge first went viral on the app in April 2020 and is having a resurgence in late August.
At the time of writing, videos associated with the hashtag #YellowTeethChallenge have been viewed over 45 million times on TikTok. Over 335,000 videos have been made with the “Side to Captain Hook” remix and over 800,000 videos have been made with the Color Selector tool, though many videos are unrelated to the challenge.
