The Brief: Parents are making parodies of the song WAP on TikTok that are about doing "chores in this house."

TikTok parodies of Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s song WAP have a SFW twist as they’re about “chores in this house.” These videos about doing household chores were inspired by the intro to the song with the lyrics:

“Wh*res in this house
There’s some wh*res in this house
There’s some wh*res in this house
There’s some wh*res in this house (Hol’ up)
I said certified freak, seven days a week
Wet-as* p*ssy, make that pullout game weak, woo (Ah)”

On August 11, TikToker @angekakah325 posted her WAP parody about the chores she does as a mom. The lyrics go:

“There’s some chores in this house (x3)

I said certified maid

I don’t get paid

Floors need mopping

And these counters need spraying ah”

Over 2,700 TikTok videos have been made with this sound.

On August 15, @pagekennedy shared his dad-themed parody, which shows him delegating the cleaning to his children:

“There’s some chores in this house (x7)

Certified dad

Seven days a week

If you don’t clean this house up

You’re gonna be six feet deep, ay”

Over 6,500 videos on TikTok have been made with this sound.

Both versions of the #ChoresInThisHouse WAP parody went viral on TikTok where videos associated with the hashtag #ChoresInThisHouse have been viewed over 1.1 billion times, although some creators are using the hashtag on unrelated videos. These videos often feature a number of cleaning products, but the trend is not sponsored by any brands.
