The Brief: My Momma Wasn't A Heather TikTok trend sees creators sharing throwback photos of their mother set to Sada Baby's "Whole Lotta Choppas."
Heathers are a popular topic on TikTok. The name is a collective term for people with similar character traits, like Chad or Karen. Heathers are known as being lovable and pretty. The term is derived partially from the 1989 cult classic Heathers, which is indicative of a popular individual. It’s also a reference to Conan Gray’s song “Heather,” which is about a girl who is beautiful and perfect.
In the latest TikTok trend, creators are showcasing photos of their mothers, proving they are not Heathers. The tend traces back to creator @D.haviorr who shared pictures of her mom with on-screen text, “My momma wasn’t a Heather, she was a Trina.” The video was marked by photos of her mother dressed-to-kill. The video received over 69,000 likes and 236,000 views.
According to other videos in the trend, it appears like Trinas are baddies. This may be a reference to rapper Trina, known as the “da baddest.”
The My Momma Wasn’t A Heather TikToks are set to Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas.”
