Group Chat TikToks are trending on the app. These videos are marked by creators poking fun at how they communicate with their friends, co-workers, family members, etc. Individuals are depicted by various emojis. The messages are narrated by the an automated voice that’s part of TikTok’s text-to-speech feature.

The trend has gotten so popular that it is currently on TikTok’s “Discover” page. The associated hashtag #GroupChat has accumulated over 603 million views at the time of publication. Many of these videos are set to an audio clip of Bohoman’s “Elevator Music.”

The trend began growing in popularity in early January. It has spread to other social media platforms, like Twitter.
