The Brief: TikTokers are writing encoded messages to their viewers as part of the #DayAndNight TikTok trend.

DEEP DIVE
The #DayAndNight TikTok trend sees creators leaving not-so-hidden messages in their videos. Typically, these videos feature black and white on-screen text, before the creator turns off the lights white text is left, revealing the secret message. These videos are intended to be amusing and/or funny.
These videos are performed to Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Night.” There are over 202,000 videos linked to the audio on the app. The associated hashtag #DayAndNight has accrued over 123 million views.
