Rappers Lil Peep and XXXTENTACION both died in the past year, but a song titled “Falling Down,” that features the two artists was released on September 19. Although the two never collaborated when they were alive, John Cunningham produced the track from an unfinished recording of  Peep’s. After Lil Peep’s passing, X recorded additions to the partially completed “Sunlight on Your Skin,” a song originally written and recorded by Peep and artist iLoveMakonnen.

“Falling Down” is melancholy and emotional: a powerful tribute to the two fallen artists.

Come, let’s watch the rain as it’s falling down
Sunlight on your skin when I’m not around
S**t don’t feel the same when you’re out of town

The makers of the song got permission from both deceased rappers’ mothers before its release. However, it has been somewhat controversial as some argue that it is unethical to produce music in the artists’ names after their deaths.
