As of May 7, Neiman Marcus is the first luxury department store to file for Chapter 11 since COVID-19 forced people to stay inside and businesses to temporarily close their doors until stay-at-home orders are lifted. In Covid-19’s wake, many businesses are suffering, like retailer J. Crew. The company filed for bankruptcy on Monday, May 4.

Customers shared their reactions to the news on Twitter. Some were shocked.
