Internet users are recalling people, places, and things that feel like they belong to a specific demographic of people, even though they aren’t exclusively associated with them. The meme has been  around for awhile, but began growing in popularity and in different forms around early November. The meme is typically constructed with the words “What’s something that isn’t… but feels… to you?” Responses typically appear in a form of a quoted tweet and in a reply on Twitter.

The meme has appeared in several different forms. For example, it has been done for things that feel racist. This category featured activities and decorations associated with white nationalists.

There was also cultural appropriation and weird food combinations.

As for the things that feel Black, the meme was more lighthearted. It included movie stars:

Musical artists:

And, personal hygiene products:

The gay version of the meme featured movies:

And, a certain heterosexual movie star:

The homophobic version of this meme took aim at articles of clothing:

Straight people in public:

And, sports:

Other versions of the memes appeared in the form of “things that feel Jewish:”

“Things that feel transphobic:”

And, “things that feel like the internet:”

TikTok

This sort of trend has appeared primarily on Twitter, but also exists on TikTok. Many of these memes are linked to the same sound “You Make Me Feel” by Sylvester.
