The Brief: A fun and slightly off-putting makeup effect, the #TinyFaceChallenge, is spreading on TikTok.

TikTokers are using makeup to paint a tiny mouth and nose over their faces in the #TinyFaceChallenge. Iterations of this makeup look have been around for years and the trend t00k off on TikTok in late April and early May 2020. MUA‘s and others are drawing smaller noses onto their noses with tiny lips below to create an effect where it looks like they have a tiny face over their actual face. By covering their actual mouths, people make it appear that their tiny drawn on mouth is their only one.

While this effect isn’t 100% realistic, it creates a fun and silly look that anyone with a few makeup essentials can try at home. At the time of writing, the hashtag #TinyFaceChallenge has been viewed over 4 million times on TikTok.

YouTuber Jamie French posted a full-length video of her process for the challenge, which received over 500,000 views.

She also created a second version where she drew eyes on her cheeks to create a tiny face using her actual lips and nose.
