A new TikTok meme format features a clip of Kanye West saying “I guess we’ll never know” before cutting to his intro in the song “American Boy” by him and Estelle. The clip comes from Kanye’s 2005 Grammy’s speech after he won the Grammy for Rap Album of the year. In his speech, he said:
“I know everybody’s asking the question, they wanted know “I know he’s going to wild out, I know he’s going to do something crazy…Everbody wanted to know what I would do if I didn’t win. [Pause]. I guess we’ll never know.”
After Kanye says that final line, the TikTok audio clip cuts to him singing “this the number one champion sound” in “American Boy.”
