The Brief: TikTokers are remarking on not-so-strange coincidences by lip-syncing to the song "How Bizarre" by OMC.
The “How Bizarre” TikTok meme trend has creators singing along to a 1996 song by OMC to indicate that they know more than they’re letting on. In these skits, TikTokers typically present a scenario where someone points out what appears to be a strange coincidence, to which they cheekily reply “how bizarre.” While they offhandedly say “how bizarre,” the expressions on people’s faces usually indicate that they don’t actually find these things “bizarre” at all.
These memes often poke fun at secrets kids keep from their parents, misunderstandings in romantic relationships, and at people (or pets) trying to cover up awkward moments. At the time of writing, over 122,800 videos have been posted to TikTok that use this sound clip, and videos associated with the hashtag #HowBizarre have been viewed over 7 million times.
The full lyrics included in the clip go:
Pele speaks “righteous,” Sister Zina says “funky”
How bizarre, how bizarre
in this house we share
😂 I’m guilty too #howbizzare
