The Brief: Gen Z vs. Millennial memes have been spreading since the comments section of a TikTok video in which Gen Z-ers dunked on Millennials went viral.

DEEP DIVE
While Gen Z-ers and Millennials may be on the same team when it comes to hating Boomers, the two generational groups have recently been at odds as Zoomers relentlessly drag the preceding generation online.
A TikTok video by creator @mayalepa sparked some of the most prominent examples of this rivalry. In her video, she said: “I’m tired of Boomers bunching Gen Z and Millennials together because I personally don’t want to be associated with people who still think that Harry Potter movies are a personality trait.”

The comments section of this video reflected @mayalepa’s sentiments, making fun of Millennials with jokes like “or that Buzzfeed knows their favorite wine,” “and they say doggo,” “‘just gonna drink my coffee bleh :P’,” and “millennials b like: yikes I’m adulting right now ugh I need to go get avocado toast!” Another good one was “they’re worried about their harry potter house but they live in a 1 bedroom apartment…y’all worried about the wrong houses 👀.”

Gen Z vs. Millennials Memes
On Twitter, Millennials, Zoomers, and those who were born on the cusp of both generations have been sharing their hot takes about this inner-generational animosity. One common theme expressed by Millennials is that Gen Z is right to be roasting them because they deserve it. Some self-effacing Millennials have joined the younger generation in making fun of Millennials.
maybe millennials shouldn't have invented cyber bullying if they didn't want gen z to perfect it

Others have noted how Gen X, (the Karen Generation) seems to survive intergenerational bashing relatively unscathed.
I love every gen Z teen mocking Millennials but also it feels slightly unfair that we’re getting it from both sides. Aren’t you supposed to be going after your parents? How has Gen X been dodging these generational bullets since like 1995
