“I am lost” TikToks depict animated characters transforming into the individual they really want to be, as well as, people and inanimate objects in situations where they felt abandoned and alone.
The “I am Black” spin-off began growing in popularity after creator @odawgdiggitydawg shared a new take on the entire “I am lost” trend on July 24. In his video captioned, “When you get pulled over for doing 90 in a 30,” he replaced The Irrepressibles lyrics of, ” I am lost, I am lost in a rainbow, No a rainbow is gone” with “I am Black, I am Black, A n*gga, a n*gga.” It received over 894,000 likes and 4.4 million views.
@Cristiandennis’ video poked fun at the stereotype that Black people never go camping. The video captioned “My friend’s family invited me to go camping w/them for the weekend” showcased a disgusted Dennis looking at the tent, campfire, and lake. His video received over 1 million likes and 3.8 million views.
