The Brief: Parents are testing their toddlers' ability to obey their rules with the #FruitSnackChallenge.

Parents are putting their toddlers’ restraint to the test with the #FruitSnackChallenge. The adorable trend typically features a parent giving their kid a bowl of fruit snacks and instructing them they cannot eat any until they come back. The videos result in a cute reaction from the tiny tots. The trend emerged on social media (TikTok and Instagram) in late April 2020 and early May 2020. On TikTok, the associated hashtag #FruitSnackChallenge has over 417,000 views. There are less than 1000 posts for the hashtag on Instagram.

Some children developed crafty mechanisms to cope with having to wait for their parents to return, like this little girl who ate invisible snacks, instead. The video gained over 19,000 views and 3,200 likes.

To know Madison Kate, is to know her personality is HUGE, literally never a dull moment with her haha. So, instead of the #fruitsnackchallenge we had to change it to the #oreochallenge because sis doesn’t LOVE fruit snacks. I’ve literally watched this video 28276274 times and smile and laugh each time. I died at her pretending to eat them. As stubborn as she usually is, she definitely made us proud though. Haha. . . Side note. Does anyone else’s kid put up a fight when it’s time to comb their hair. Maddy hates having hers done, which typically results in either just one ponytail on top of her head or a failed attempt at a wash n go. 😂 On well, better luck next time! . . #babygirl #toddlergoals #toddlersofinstagram #kiddycurls #bigsister #toddlerblogger #mommyblogger #motherhoodunplugged #momgoals #momlife #childhoodunplugged #frobabies #melaninbabies #bourgiebabies #milennialparenting #viral_qt #babyofinstagram #realmomlife #cutekidsgotswag #blackmoms #familiesofinstagram #parenthood_unveiled

#fruitsnackchallenge at least she’s honest 😂 . . I have to give her some credit because this was our second attempt. The first attempt she waited the entire time, but the camera wasn’t set right and only captured her arm🤦‍♀️. When I went to retry the challenge, we captured this gem….) . . . . #toddlerlife #toddlersofinstagram #😂😂😂😂 #shetried #tricky #sosneaky #momlife #quarantinelife #disneykid #annieshomegrown #irresistible #snacktime😋 #wetried #almosttwo #funnyvideos #funnykids #funnykidsvideo #spreadlove #spreadpositivity #spreadjoy #spreadlaughter #sillygirl #funnyvids #sillykids #quarantinechallenge #kidsactivities #toddlerfashion #toddlermomlife #toddlersnacks

This cutie dove right into his bowl of snacks as soon as his mom was out of sight.
