The adorable trend typically features a parent giving their kid a bowl of fruit snacks and instructing them they cannot eat any until they come back. The videos result in a cute reaction from the tiny tots. The trend emerged on social media (TikTok and Instagram) in late April 2020 and early May 2020. On TikTok, the associated hashtag #FruitSnackChallenge has over 417,000 views. There are less than 1000 posts for the hashtag on Instagram.
Some children developed crafty mechanisms to cope with having to wait for their parents to return, like this little girl who ate invisible snacks, instead. The video gained over 19,000 views and 3,200 likes.
This little boy was on to his parents and clocked the camera, halting his plans to sneak a snack. The adorable video was shared on TheGrio and gained over 10,000 views and 1200 likes.
There’s also this angel who just stared at her snacks. The video received over 2700 likes and 31,100 views on TikTok.
