The Brief: TikTokers are putting their pets to the test with the Don't Eat It Challenge. Owners typically leave their dogs alone with a plate of food to test their obedience.

DEEP DIVE
Last week, parents were challenging their kids’ restraint with the #FruitSnackChallenge. Now, dog moms and dads are doing the same with their four-legged family members. TikTokers are placing a plate of food (or treats) in front of their pets and instructing them to refrain from eating any of it until they say so, which is typically after they leave the room for a few seconds.
The trend is associated with the hashtags #DontEatIt and #DontEatIt Challenge. #DontEatIt has been viewed over 17.9 million times and #DontEatItChallenge has been viewed over 402,800 times.
Some dogs were really obedient, like @b.alexx_ and @projectej’s pets.
@b.alexx_ Good Girlllll..although she was so tempted 😭🐶💕 @officialtokyobradshaw #donteatitchallenge #fyp #dreamari
@projectej Don’t eat it! #donteatit #donteatitchallenge #goodboy #petsoftiktok #dogsoftiktok #doggy #familytime #gooddog #fyp #lol #funny
Other dogs, like @parker_james’ and @deannaleggett’s furry friends, held out as long as they could:
@parker_james Will Murphy eat my sandwich or will he stay like I asked him to do? #dogsoftiktok #donteatit #pets #dog #cute
@deannaleggett Will Tristan eat the sandwich or will he stay like I asked him to? #dogsoftiktok #donteatit #pets #dogs #cute #foryou @parker_james 😩🥴
And, then there was @yafavegreasymcnugget’s pup who had no chill.
