The Brief: The month of June marks the annual celebration of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, & Queer Pride month, or LGBTQ Pride Month, in the United States.
Every June, people around the world celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month. The month long series of events began in June 1970 as a way of commemorating the Stonewall Riots one year prior. This year marks the 49th Anniversary of the annual celebration. Yaaaas, queens!
Celebrations typically include parades, parties, workshops, and concerts. These events attract millions of participants around the world.

While Pride Month is designed as a time for celebration and inclusion, it also raises awareness for injustices plaguing the LGBTQ+ community.
It’s almost Pride month, so this is your reminder that closeted and questioning people are part of our community and welcome at Pride events. In fact, they are the exact people that need Pride the most.
Happy (almost) Pride! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Once again, the President leads the way in hypocrisy, speaking of standing in solidarity with the LGBT community during Pride Month as though his administration hasn't attacked adoption by same-sex couples, women's reproductive rights, and trans rights on every front.

No matter where you fall on the gender or sexuality spectrum, you are celebrated! Your feelings are real. Your identity is valid. YOU are loved and accepted just as you are. Be proud.
