The Brief: Panny is shorthand for "pandemic."

DEEP DIVE
The COVID-19 pandemic has inspired a slew of slang terms including Miss Rona, Corn Teen, quarantini, coronacoaster, and panny. Short for “pandemic,” panny is a cute and slightly silly way to talk about the virus.
As with many new words that become popular, “panny” has origins in use by Black people and on Black Twitter.
