The Brief: Jebaited is a meme, Twitch emote, and slang term for when someone has been pranked or tricked.

Inspired by the founder of Community Effort Orlando (CEO Gaming), Alex Jebailey, the “jebaited” Twitch emote and corresponding term combine his name with the word “baited” to signify that someone fell for a trick or “took the bait.” The visual emote is of Jebailey’s face looking up and smiling and its textual counterpart has spread beyond just Twitch chats since its inception in 2016.
The terms jebait, jebaited, and jebaiting can be used in reference to video games, livestreams, and any other situation where someone is fooled.
