The phrase originated from Instagram user @Thesadia’s November 2015 video captioned, “I have tapped into the true American conspiracy!” according to Know Your Meme.
In it, she points at a map identifying the different pronunciations between Kansas and Arkansas. She emphasized the word phonetically, asking, “So, I am confusion! Why is this one Kansas and this one not Ar-Kansas?”
