The Brief: "I am confusion" is a phrase meaning an individual does not understand a concept. It became popular after it was used in @Thesadia's November 2015 Instagram video.

“I am confusion” indicates someone is extremely perplexed and doesn’t understand a concept. The phrase is intended to be funny and is also used when an individual is responding to something they find illogical.

The phrase originated from Instagram user @Thesadia’s November 2015  video captioned, “I have tapped into the true American conspiracy!” according to Know Your Meme.

In it, she points at a map identifying the different pronunciations between Kansas and Arkansas. She emphasized the word phonetically, asking, “So, I am confusion! Why is this one Kansas and this one not Ar-Kansas?”
