Pwn (pronounced like Pone or Pown) is a gaming term that means “own” or “defeat.” The word originated from a mis-typing of the word “own,” likely because the P and O keys are next to each other on keyboards.

Pwning and pwned are the present and past tense of pwn.

Pwn can also mean to hack or to compromise a computer or data.

Do people still pwn and get pwned?
