Used commonly on Reddit and other online forums,  an OP is the original poster of a piece of content. The acronym is often used by the original poster when they comment on their own post and wish to identify themselves as the original poster.

OP is also a gamer term that’s short for “overpowered,” which can refer to someone who is particularly powerful or good at a game.
