Ninja’s Move From Twitch To Mixer

On August 1st, Tyler Blevins, who is often referred to by his username Ninja, announced on Twitter that he would be leaving Twitch to stream exclusively on Mixer.

One of the biggest names in Fortnite, Ninja was previously most-followed Twitch streamer. His move to Mixer his marks a significant moment in the world of live streaming for both Twitch and Mixer.

Mixer vs. Twitch

Mixer is similar to Twitch in many ways. Owned by Amazon, Twitch is also a live streaming platform with interactive elements including live chats. Mixer is unique in its integration of interactive elements that allow viewers to influence the actual gameplay of the streamer they’re watching. Possible actions include directing game choices, placing objects, and selecting sounds.

Although Mixer and Twitch have different features and functions, the streamers and content that can be found on each platform will likely direct viewers to a certain site. Ninja’s move to Mixer is presumably a partnership meant to attract new viewers to the platform who will follow the beloved star wherever he chooses to host his streams.
