The Brief: Tinder is a swipe-based dating app with over 50 million users.
Tinder is open to users of all genders and has a largely heterosexual user-base. It pairs profiles by physical location and allows them to swipe right for yes and left for no. If two users both swipe right on each other, then they “match” and can chat with each other through the app.
People looking for hookups, serious relationships, and/or platonic friends use Tinder. Settings allow users to filter who they can swipe on based on age, location, and gender. Users must be 18 or older to use the app, but it can be easy to lie about one’s age.
Users create Tinder profiles by connecting through Facebook, verifying their identity to a certain degree.
